INTRODUCING Wireless the Musical
WIRELESS THE MUSICAL: FIRST DO NO HARM is an 18-song drama inspired by comments on wireless transmitting Technology and Health at the FCC (Federal Communications Commission). In song and fantasy, the composer explores the feelings about manmade electromagnetic radiation, spotlighting voices lost to the industry's powerful influence.
The music is sprinkled with motifs from old science fiction shows and famous classical music tunes. Lyrics borrow from actual public comments, and quote well-known books and movies. Seven songs cite actual comments from wireless industry promoters and individuals reporting harm from transmitted emissions.
The sung-through (no dialogue) contemporary musical began as an 8-movement cantata, expanding into a full-length video version, which premiered at the 2023 Star City Film Festival In Iowa. "The Lost Creatures" song played in a 2025 Wisconsin Alliance for Composers New Music Festival.
