INTRODUCING Wireless the Musical
WIRELESS THE MUSICAL: FIRST DO NO HARM is an 18-song drama inspired by comments on wireless EMR (Electromagnetic Radiation) Technology and Health at the FCC (Federal Communications Commission). Seven songs cite input from actual comments. Two voices emerge, wireless industry promoters and individuals reporting harm from transmitted emissions.
In song and fantasy, the composer explores awareness and feelings on the issue as both sides vie for the new clerk's allegiance. Using rock & other styles, the music is sprinkled with motifs from old science fiction shows and famous classical music tunes. Lyrics borrow from actual public comments, and quote well-known books and movies.
The sung-through (no dialogue) contemporary musical began as an 8-movement cantata, expanding into a full-length video version, which premiered at the 2023 Star City Film Festival In Iowa. "The Lost Creatures" song played in a 2025 Wisconsin Alliance for Composers New Music Festival.
